The Camping Bares of San Diego is a loosely organized (to be generous) club whose members party, hike and camp nude. It has been going since 1977 and John has been a member since 1978. It publishes a newsletter.

DeAnza Springs Resort near Jacumba, California is John's nearest "landed" club. It is a clothing-optional RV park with many residents. It also caters to non-resident members and, at its discretion, non-members. These clubs are all very particular about proper behavour because their business depends on it.

Bare Necessities is a travel agent which charters cruise ships for exclusive clothing-optional cruises. John and Elaine went to Alaska on Holland-America's Amsterdam, had a good time, and did not see or hear of any inappropriate behavour.
